Capturing this scene was a revalation for me. I’d previously seen some very beautiful and interesting photos of the Arcola Soo Line Bridge, but none captured it quite the way I imagined it would be, so I set out one night to create my own images.
The moon was to rise thirty minutes before sunset, and a hot, calm day also suggested there would be haze in the air to reflect the colors of twilight. Combined, these factors made for the perfect night to finally make the hike out to this historic bridge.
I trekked through the woods with all of my gear and climbing up the steep bank to the edge of the bridge, arriving a few minutes before sunset and staying through the final moments of civil twilight’s end.
